First Lead-Free Buzzer Developed — A Breakthrough for Security Alarm Technology

Ningbo East Electronics has successfully developed the first fully lead-free piezoelectric

buzzer in China — marking a major milestone in eco-friendly acoustic components for the

security industry. The product has passed environmental testing by the global authority SGS

and is already in strategic partnership with several major security companies. Initial

applications will include smart smoke detectors and anti-theft systems.

Solving a Longstanding Industry Challenge

Conventional buzzers often rely on lead-based piezoelectric ceramics, posing environmental

hazards and falling short of international standards like the EU RoHS directive.

After 18 months of R&D and countless trials, the Ningbo East succeeded in replacing

traditional PZT materials with a lead-free alternative — without compromising performance.

• Stability: Frequency drift below 0.3% after 300 hours of continuous lab testing
